Eagle to land at Fespa
SSE Worldwide has chosen to launch its range of small format, UV LED flatbed inkjet printers, the Eagle range, at Fespa 2013 in June.
Developed by DPI DG Printing, Italy, the Eagle UV LED 30 (300 mm x 1000 mm) and the Eagle UV LED 60 (600 mm x 1500 mm) machines both print CMYK and white as standard onto substrates and objects up to a depth of 250 mm, making it ideal for imaging onto a wide range of products from flat signage to 3D promotional products, gadgets and industrial components.
The printers use UV inks, which are suitable for printing onto a wide range of both flexible and non-flexible substrates and deliver vibrant, wide colour gamut results. Furthermore the use of LED UV drying lamps allows users to print onto heat-sensitive substrates.
Commenting on the range, Scott Armitage, managing director, said, 'The Eagle is a highly versatile and affordable machine which fits easily into any production environment and enables companies to print onto a wide range of materials and objects, as a result, to open up new markets for added-value printed products.
The Eagle 30 is essentially a quick turnaround, short-run machine, while the larger Eagle 60 is a production engine that can play a key role in a developing print business.'
The range has been engineered for flexibility, quality, production efficiency and return on investment.
Features include: Epson DX5 printheads, which deliver one of the smallest ink drop sizes of any inkjet printer (3 picolitre); a free standing wing design which allows easy loading and unloading of the print bed, even during production; and a cost-effective bulk ink system.
The machine includes a dedicated RIP, Whiterip, which has been developed specifically for the printer to ensure the best print quality and production performance. In addition, a web-to-print front end has been developed specifically for the printer, allowing users to offer a personalised online shop front and streamline their product ordering and production workflow.
